What is O.G.R.E?

Erin and John met in Toby Hemenway's 2013 Permaculture Design Certification in Portland, OR, went on a date to a Modern Kin concert, and found themselves on a common path ever since.

They are currently living in North Portland on a 5000 sq ft lot, with the ghost of a beloved cat, a part-time dog, a flock of chickens and a bunch of bees. They are interested in natural building, beekeeping, food forestry, fermentation, converting waste into value, making connections with neighbors and local businesses, and restoring a quirky 1902 home into a regenerative paradise.

This website is an attempt to show the entire learning process involved in choosing  an adaptive regenerative lifestyle. The goal is to show both successes and failures along the way as a shared learned experience rather than as just a primer for success. 

In late 2017, they formalized their partnership in Italy, and used the experience to explore the ways of ancient cultures and learn about folks that have had to live in the same place for millennia.
